Book Review: The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Learning Spanish, 5th Edition

The Complete Idiot's Guide to Learning Spanish, 5th Edition

Having only the verve to get through the first few chapters, the book feels so scattershot as to want to completely give up learning a new language.

Words, grammar, structure is thrown at you at such a rapid pace as to be unlearnable. At times, I feel like i’m being talked down to and other times it feels like i’m being taught at from such a lofty place, that I could never hope to learn Spanish. I bought this on clearance for a dollar when the competing brick and mortar bookstore was going out of business, and on a lark, snapped this tome up.

There are better, more established books for sale from companies that are tried and true.
