Ok, so maybe it’s because i’m not hip or fashionable enough to understand social media. There are a ton of articles, “Marketers”, “Social Media Experts” and so on extolling the endless virtues and possibilities of social media.
They post rules of engagement, do’s-and-don’ts, What to say/write/post and what not to and so forth. Seems an awful lot of rules and regulations just to engage in readers and potential clients.
Maybe I don’t understand the nuances of twitter, linkedin, facebook and the myriad of social media possibilities. I’ve never been able to get massive followings, clients tripping over themselves to use my research/writing business or readers dying to buy/download my book.
I post daily on my Health, Technology and Book Blogs daily, I post those links on said media networks, then work on other projects. (I’ve since given up on trying to get Google’s Adsense to work on all the blogs/websites and trying to create websites from scratch. I know now that is not my strong suit).
I don’t have time (or the interest, really) to sit and ‘work’ social media. I’m busy writing.
