The July Downloads for “Aside of Murder” ended in double digits for the re-release!
Between my self-generated coupon to celebrate the re-release of my first novel, “Aside of Murder”, of “The Rose Petal Wine Murder Mysteries” and the Smashwords July author giveaway coupon special, there were 44 downloads!
Hopefully those 44 will spread via word-of-mouth to their friends and family. The Novel has been professionally edited and has a new cover from a professional graphics design artist. I’m very proud of the book and have gotten great feedback on the characters and plot.
I always thought I was writing a contemporary murder mystery but much to my surprise, feedback from readers stated they enjoyed the “30s-50s gritty modern day noir’ feel of the first book. Who knew? I’ll take it, as I’ve always admired those writers who could capture the look and feel of those noir movies and books. Who can forget the Noir Detective movies of the era? With Humphrey Bogart, Lauren Bacall, Edward G. Robinson and Barbara Stanwyck?
So I take those compliments with great pride, hope you enjoy “Aside of Murder” and look forward to book 2 of the series, “The Bamboo Killer”.
