If you’ve noticed my side bar, I have all my books listed (of which I am quite proud!). As of right now, they point to the Smashwords retail site but i’m thinking of changing them to the Amazon site. What are your thoughts?
Human nature is odd and which I’ll never understand. For two years, there were countless people begging, nagging and cajoling me to write a cookbook of my recipes that I shared on social media sites. So, after two years of getting beat up about them, I took the summer off from writing my Novel series, and created my first cookbook and posted it on all the social media sites.
Now, suddenly, no one wants it. Why? I have no idea. Well, that’s not entirely true, one person did buy. I think the recipes are great, low-carb, low-calorie, low-fat, healthy from simple, fresh ingredients. IT’s what “everyone” wanted. I don’t think it’s expensive, at $5.99, for over 15,000 words, 70+ full color recipes for every reading device thinkable.
At first, I never wanted to create a cookbook, not on my list of priorities, but now that it is done, I’m glad I did. So much so, that there will be a “Simple, Healthy, Fresh 2.0” coming out sometime next year!
So, on the horizon, will be book two of “The Rose Petal Wine Murder Mysteries”, The Bamboo Killer, the above mentioned cookbook number two, maybe another selection of short stories, plus i’ve been asked to write a book about my struggles with Alport’s Syndrome, a degenerative kidney disease that caused mine to fail and the subsequent kidney transplant.
Who knows, maybe one of the books will actually sell.
Solved my own problem. Added the amazon sales link under the images.
May I recommend becoming an Amazon Affiliate and adding a carousel widget for your sidebar. Then create a new page on your blog for your books. On that page put the book covers, a blurb about each book, a review, and links to where they can be found (smashwords, amazon us, amazon uk (?), B&N (?)). This gives you a great way to showcase them, make the most out of them, and clean up your sidebar.
As to the coookbook… Post pictures and menu suggestions as blog articles – maybe themed menus. Romantic dinner, quick snacks, super bowl party, etc. This would show people ways the cookbook could help them without giving out all the recipes for free. Even ask “what kinds of menus are you looking for” and then post those.
I absolutely love your blog and find a lot of your post’s to be precisely what I’m looking for. Would you offer guest writers to write content for yourself? I wouldn’t mind composing a post or elaborating on a lot of the subjects you write regarding here. Again, awesome blog!
Thank you Edna, for the great compliments. I am open to guest bloggers.
