Since so many people are still searching the site for my old tech blog, thetechgadget, I’ve decided to institute a new blog posting, called “Tech Tuesday” on brickoneil.com. Thetechgadget was about new technologies, new and upcoming phones, tablets, accessories and even software.
After a year of seeing searches for my old blog, I confess, i’m confused why so many people are still looking for it, it does make me feel good that so many were reading the old blog.
Today’s heads up for tech involves a kind of self-aware virus protecting software. Found over on our friends on Gizmodo, is inventor, Ang Cui and his company, Red Balloon Security—and cofounder/advisor Sal Stolfo—will present proof that its security software, the “symbiote,” can protect a standard IP office phone from malicious attacks. And this IP phone demo is just the beginning.
And the Symbiote software can adpat and adopt to any program (eventually), offering defense and offense capabilities. I would welcome this, after spending a few days running various virus/spy/mal-ware programs on my home/office workhorse computer, an aging TC1100.
