This was taken from the end of the Bell Street walkway, looking southeast over Bell Harbor Marina and Downtown Seattle. Belltown has a ‘rough and tumble’ reputation in The Emerald City, however, it is the first neighborhood I moved to in 2008. I like the ‘hood, there are plenty of different types of restaurants, some venues for entertainment and more than enough coffee shops. You just have to be smart about where you go and at what time. Just like life.
Have you been in the midst of a problem or some issue, thinking it was world-ending, then after some time away or after it was over, saw just how infinitesimally small it was? Life is like that. We all need a different perspective and time away from the issue or problem, then we can see more clearly the answer or how to work with solving the issue.
Sometimes the answer is to just walk away or view the issue from a new perspective. Then, you can decide what your next course of action should be.
Here’s a panoramic shot outside my window in Belltown, taken Fall of 2011. Now all those views are either blocked or getting blocked by hi-rise buildings, 21 and 44 stories tall. Changes happen and I may need to think about a different viewpoint.
Just like life.
