Updates for July 2013

Time has just snuck by recently!  It’s already mid-July and btw, how are those Resolutions you made 6 months ago coming along?  I’m still working out, cooking and living healthy!  I’ve published two books this year, the short autobiography and the second cookbook, as you well know. I had added two more daily blog posts to this website but after a few months discovered they were not very popular, so I removed them.  These blog posts are time-consuming and my time is better spent doing other things.

BrickONeil.com has a few new pages, an Alport’s Syndrome Fundraiser page (see more below), besides the new books’ pages in the drop down menu above.  I’ve added a page for my Flavored Peppers, https://brickoneil.com/simple-healthy-fresh/flavored-peppers-from-simple-healthy-fresh/, describing how I create the peppers, to where I buy the grinders and mills.  If there is enough interest, I may sell the flavored peppers (grinder and mills not included).

The cookbooks’ Facebook page is live as well, https://www.facebook.com/SimpleHealthyFresh. There are more recipes that are simple, healthy, fresh.  You will find hints for low-carb and low-salt cooking, tips for shopping, plate presentation (because we do eat with our eyes first, afterall), substitution suggestions for healthier cooking.  I do post about three to four recipes a week for all the foodies out there. I spend more time in Facebook than I do Google Plus or Twitter.

I’m cutting back on the blog postings, no longer daily because they are so time-consuming and they just are not bringing in the traffic, which was my ultimate goal.  Traffic to read the posts and then to poke around the website, follow the links to buy the seven books I have for sale. No sales in a year, so cutting back on posts.  The posts will not be strictly daily/weekly, rather, whenever I have the chance to read a book, I’ll post a Monday Book Review, if I come across a great Technology item, I’ll post a Tech Tuesday. I’ll still do the Top Ten EBooks each Friday, as those are quite popular. I just hate spinning my wheels.

Next month is the very last First Friday Free Recipe.  I’ve enjoyed bringing you free recipes from my first cookbook, “Simple, Healthy, Fresh 1.0”, and glad so many of you have started cooking, eating and living healthier lives, for that I am proud!  However, the whole point of offering the free recipes was to sell the cookbook and that part failed miserably. I can no longer afford to keep offering free recipes if nothing selling.

So, I hope you keep coming around, peruse the website, support the all new Alport’s Syndrome Foundation fundraiser page–my fundraiser has it’s own page here now, instead of a sticky posts. You will find information, links, free codes and more!
