Wertfrei Wednesday: Equality Under the Law

There is all different kinds of Equality: there is human rights equality, marriage equality, housing equality, racial equality but I want to talk about Income INequality, right here in the good old US of A.

Corporations are people, Money is Free Speech, Income Based Laws–you’ve read the headlines, heard the talking heads explain why you, Mr. and Ms. Average American, are the enemy of the Corporate State. The poor, tired, hungry corporations are barely scraping by with their hidden, tax-free super accounts overseas, whereby they switch money from overseas, tax-free manufacturing plants, corporate headquarters where there aren’t any pesky unions, workers rights or equal pay laws to hinder their unprecedented growth.

They are exempt from paying American Taxes, overseas taxes, import taxes, shielded by politicians from American scrutiny, the IRS gives them refunds they didn’t deserve by the billions. Meanwhile, the US economy is shrinking, workers’ wages are gone, employment is skyrocketing-in China, India, Vietnam. American Citizens are losing homes, savings, cars, moving in with elderly parents, siblings or under bridges.

The US Government has few permanent back-up programs, such as Social Security, Social Security Disability Income, Supplemental Security Income to help the elderly and disabled to afford to barely scrape by.  There are even temporary programs like Unemployment Checks to help prolong the agony of losing their homes, that many drew when President Bush wrecked the economy bring back President Reagan’s failed policy of ‘trickle down economics’. Because everyone knows how the rich love to pay it forward. Luckily Switzerland and China are starting to report those hidden bank accounts.

What needs to happen, is all these corporations need to Man-Up and pay their U.S. Taxes, politicians need to close all these tax loopholes so Mr. and Ms. Average American can afford to live again.

God Bless America.
