Monday Book Review: Ty Hard (Willow Springs Ranch Book 1)

M/M Romance? I had no idea that was even a genre! And well written M/M Romance? After reading, I was bug-eyed and my jaw was slack against my chest. I’d read enough Straight Romance to roll my eyes at the saccharine sappiness of that genre but reading the reviews, decided to give Laura Harner a chance.

Boy, was I glad I did! There was actual character development, an actual plot and sub-plots. The writing, pacing, description was readable and flowed smoothly. Not at all what I was expecting. The romance was kept in check-spicy without the in-your-face type of sex scenes. Ty Hard was a refreshing change in my regular rotation of fiction/mystery/biography ebooks.

Here’s Amazon’s Book Description:

January 15, 2014
Tyler has used Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell as a shield against the truth since he was seventeen. Cut loose from his Navy career and mourning his mentor’s death, Ty must come to terms with his desires for another man even while he fights to keep the PTSD from pulling him under.

Rancher Cass Cartwright’s relationships never last more than a few hours, and that’s just the way he likes it. Now he’s done the one thing he swore never to do: fallen in love. Can Cass convince Ty to let go of his past or will sabotage at the ranch kill their love before it has a chance to grow?

What’s not to love about Ty Hard? Cowboys, Veterans, Masculinity, Love and Misunderstanding.
