Healthy Thursday: Prepaid Healthcare

From UMCES Library

Is your credit ok? Do you have the money upfront? No checks/no credit!

You may be asked these questions before entering an ER or seeing your Doctor before your next visit. Hundreds and thousands of hospitals, ER’s and Dr’s offices are getting dragged down by non-payers each year.  Each day we see more hospitals declaring bankruptcy or closing their doors. What is happening?

What you won’t see splashed across the news headlines is the cause is more illegal aliens entering the United States’ porous borders. Our healthcare system has been overloaded, especially along the southern border states, where hospitals, ERs and Dr’s are facing a crisis of non payers. The Government has been bending over backwards to shove free healthcare over her own citizens, to ensure illegals get the best care imaginable, whereas the America’s poor are getting turned away from healthcare.

Politicians won’t be discussing these hospital and ERs closures, you can be sure. They’ve also been adamantly obsessed about recalling the Affordable Healthcare Act, so none of America’s citizens can get the same elite healthcare that illegal border crossers from south, central america and mexico are currently receiving.  Who is paying for all these.

Look in the mirror, MR. and MRS. Taxpayer. You are. By increased taxes somewhere down the line. Or your own increased health care premiums, fees and copays. Already, clinics and ERs are asking for a credit check or cash upfront before dispensing healthcare to citizens. Something has to be done.

But what? That is the question that politicians and poor alike have been asking.

How is your credit?
