Tech Tuesday: Ars reviews the BlackBerry Passport, the corporate tool

A few months ago, I brought this to your attention as a decidedly different type of smartphone. The BlackBerry Passport is big, bulky with a smushed keyboard.  And I want one!

As a hearing impaired individual, I do not do a whole lot of calling, chatting, listening-I like to text. However, not one of my friends like to text back. I have a teeny, tiny LG505C with slide-out keyboard for texting. It suits my needs with short message between my fiance and myself. I do alot of email communication with businesses, doctors and medical staff and other sundry people. And all those smartphone apps with the whistles and bells? Notsomuch.

My main interest, however, is writing. I have this blog, the website, two series I’m continuing and other projects, so the passport’s big screen is a bonus. I like the business aspect of the BlackBerry phone, it really reminds me of the old Nokia Communicator I used for years (until it crashed).

This is one phone I will be keeping an eye on.
