We’re getting back on track now that the wedding is over and we’ve had a few days to rest and relax from all that planning, calling, emailing, fun, stress and on and on. We slept and slept and slept, getting up for my double dark roast coffee, finishing off the reception food and digging in our larder for provisions.
We still can’t believe we’re actually MARRIED! LEGALLY!
Unless you’re gay, you have no idea how momentous this feels. We have the paperwork to prove that we, Jos A and Brick, are actually, legally married! But, life goes on-there was no fanfare, no parade, no mountains of cards, no backups of voicemails, emails or texts. But that’s ok-we know and we love each other more than life. We have plans, even after meeting and marrying in middle age. The wedding did wipe us out and we may have some late fees to pay, but we will meet them together.
Tomorrow is another apartment inspection, so I’ve been cleaning my little gray fool head off this morning. Dishes, vacuuming, cleaning, laundry. These little inspections are so stressful, full of rules, regulations, threats. Since husband has a temp job that is ft, we are paying the max in rent now, which hurts financially. But the affordable income apartment rules aren’t as strict–or shouldn’t be. In any case, I’ve been cleaning and stressing about that now.
Life goes on. Together.
