Recently I’ve had some dental work done, my dentist re-cemented a 20 year old bridge that had popped out last month for my wedding. Today she had to drill it out to fix one cavity-not bad for not seeing a dentist in 10 years. Instead of recementing it a third time, she said I have two options to replace the former bridge from almost 20 years ago-another type of bridge that is more sturdy (The bridge would be the 2nd best option and not a permanent solution) or……the best option would be braces (for the second time after 22 years) and a dental implant.
Dental insurance would cover some of the bridge work and but would never cover braces, implant or all of it. I really can’t afford dental insurance on social security disability income. Needless to say, I can’t afford braces and an implant!
Before I even think of that, I need to get new hearing aids. Right now, I’m using nine year old hearing aids that desperately need replaced. My audiologist has fiddled with them as my hearing and speech discrimination has gotten worse due to Alport Syndrome, a degenerative kidney disease. One of the symptoms is hearing loss. I believe the loss has stalled at the equivalent of 75% but I need new hearing aids. Neither Medicare nor insurance covers the cost of hearing aids.
So, instead of begging for money or fundraisers, please buy my ebooks, cookbook and flavored peppers so I can buy what I need for myself. If you have any idea where I can market my books, writing business or peppers, or where I can find a job using my Masters degree in Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling and Certified Rehabilitation Counselor certification, shoot me an email.
