Happy 47th Birthday To Me

Celebrating my 47th Birthday today and I am so grateful. I’ve spent the past 13 years living on borrowed time after the kidney transplant in 2003. The years have sped by, I’ve lived in different cities, met met a lot of people over time. My health has changed, I’ve survived more surgeries, I’ve slowed down a bit but my constant curiosity has never waned. I still love going new places, trying new foods, ideas and adventures. I’ve come to terms with life, I’m happy with where, who I am and where life is headed. I don’t regret anything-the old saying is true: your life experiences make you who you are. So my kidney transplant, heart surgery, hearing loss, seizures have tempered me, made me appreciate even more what I have and where I’m going.
