I lost $5601 and my Bank Account

Thought I’d give and update about my life these days. If you follow me on Twitter, you know.

On 9/3, I discovered my account balance, $4412, had been stolen due to a Debit DDA charge. I couldn’t do anything until Tuesday 9/6 after labor Day. I also noticed my SSDI check hadn’t been deposited so on 9/6 I messaged chase and the check appeared. On 9/7, my SSDI payment was stolen with another Debit DDA Charge, then on 9/8, my account was closed.

Chase bank has been terrorizing me since last November, when they notified me of a fraud charge. Contrary to previous conversations, they no longer provided secure messaging and kept telling me to call them. Since I have 75% loss of both hearing and speech discrimination, I cannot make phone calls. Plus, due to mental health issues (Major Depressive Disorder and Social Affective Disorder), I cannot use relay. Plus, I did not want more people knowing my bank account information. Chase doggedly ignored me, only responding with ‘call in’. They had been fighting me since 11/20.

That money was for a down payment on a car, a down payment on an apartment, money to pay movers–because I can no longer pack and move myself now. Two years of paying off bills my divorce left me with then two years of denying myself things to save that money only to have my life savings stolen and a bank refusing to help a disabled client. I have to start all over again.

My health has taken a turn for the worse. My kidney transplant is failing, the diabetes is almost uncontrollable, I’ve had a long bout of depression the past year, mostly due to chase, some politics, trying to buy a home and discovering nothing is in my price range on the entire western coast of the United States. My kidney has a tumor that Dr’s feel is benign and the kidney has so much pain now, there’s another abdominal hernia that needs repair and another is forming.

I’ve been needing dental and gum repair for four years now. There are dental vans that come to the island and they really didn’t do much. I’d known my gums were dissolving and they only said “brush your teeth”. There aren’t any gum specialists on island, the counseling center couldn’t find one within 120 miles. Due to my health issues resulting in less stamina, I can’t travel three to six hours one way, get dental or health issues done and make the return three to six hours home. That doesn’t include missing connections or transfers.

The one positive is I’ve lost 30 pounds this Summer over a 12 week period. I’ve lost 10 inches around my body–Neck 1 inch, Chest 2 inches, waist 2 inches, hips 5 inches. I had been yo-yoing in my weight for a few years, from 170 to 160 and just had enough of it early Summer. All I did was portion control of healthy foods and fluid increase of caffeine and sugar-free fluids.

Not sure what direction to go now.

Until next time.

      1. I have reported Chase to about 15 or 16 different government agencies, unfortunately 8 of them referred my complaint back to one agency. So now one agentcy. has 9 of my complaints and the others I don’t know if anything will happen.

  1. holy crap. Man. I am sorry. It sure sounds like a lawyer would be a big help. Is that possible? There must be an advocacy group for you. If you want to call me, please do, Brick. I hate all this. Love you, man.
